PlayMakers Repertory Company (LORT D), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, seeks a highly motivated Properties Artisan for their 2024-2025 season. PRC produces a 7-show main stage in the Paul Green Theatre, thrust stage and a 3 show second stage season in the Kenan Theatre, a flexible space, on the campus of the University of North Carolina. Applicants should possess a BA/BFA in theatre and three – five years’ experience in carpentry, furniture building & modification, upholstery, crafts and metal work. Work as Properties Artisan on all PRC shows, construction and pulling props, the ability to work independently. Candidate will also possess a willingness to work with university students. Prop shop consists of Properties Supervisor, Prop Artisan, a student assistant & work study students. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a pick-up truck required. The position will work with, and train shop crew drawn from undergraduate students and complete other duties as directed by Properties Supervisor.
Contract dates are 7/1/24 – 5/4/25; start date negotiable and contract is renewable.
Compensation: $20.00-21.00 per hour, paid bi-weekly.
