Approximate size of backstage storage area: 8’x12’

Upstage Center Curtain: This curtain will act as a back wall during performances. At the beginning and end of your show only, the curtain will be opened (as widely as needed) for you to move your set across the start/finish line. Please have a student tell the backstage technicians when to open and close the curtain at the start and finish, once your set has moved past the curtain line.

Load-in/Load-out: The scene shop load-in door is located on the far side of the auditorium, closest to the big hut – directly next to the back gate of the school. The exterior garage door measures 118” wide by 112” tall, BUT the widest passage through the scene shop is 76”. Do not bring any set pieces that cannot pass through a space that is 76” wide, or smaller. Regular sized doors (33” by 82”) are also accessible. The scene shop will not be used for storage, only for stage access.

Tours of the space: Permitted by appointment only. Email Ms. Bogers to arrange.

Headsets: Headsets are not available for use.

Booth Location: Second floor. One person can call both light and sound cues. Keep in mind, actors must project well to be heard in the booth, as the space is large.

Outlets: Available off stage right and left next to each door, downstage next to the main drape, and in pit center in a floor panel. The proscenium arch is 53 feet wide, so be prepared with a long enough extension cord to reach your electric item.

Piano: Available, house left. Please give the host advance notice if you wish to use the piano.

Sound: A windows laptop computer will be available to play digital sound files. You may also use the host’s AUX cable to run sound on your own laptop. A handheld mic in the house is available, if needed.

Lights: Light cues will be executed manually by the board operator. A blue wash will be used as load-in safety lighting. Spotlights are available, on the balcony level. Download the light cue sheet.

From 95- Take exit 41 for NC- 59 toward Hope Mills/Parkton. Turn left onto Johnson St. Turn left onto Rockfish Rd. Turn left into Jack Britt High School campus, turn right at the stop sign, take the 3rd left by the large mobile classroom, pull in and drop off.

From Wilmington- Turn right onto US-76 W/Wooster St. Slight right onto NC-87 N. Continue onto NC-87 Bypass N. Merge onto NC-41 S/NC-87 N. Once in Cumberland County, turn left onto County Line Rd. Turn right onto Chickenfoot Rd. Continue onto NC-59 N/S Main St. Turn left onto Johnson St. Turn left onto Rockfish Rd. Turn left into Jack Britt High School campus, turn right at the stop sign, take the 3rd left by the large mobile classroom, pull in and drop off.

From 401- From business 401 N (Raeford Rd. in Cumberland County) Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Bunce Rd./Bingham Rd. Continue onto Bingham Dr. Turn right onto Fisher Rd. Turn left onto Lakewood Dr. Turn left onto Rockfish Rd. Turn right into Jack Britt High School campus, turn right at the stop sign, take the 3rd left by the large mobile classroom, pull in and drop off.

From Greensboro (421)- Take US-421 S to NC-87 BYP. Continue onto NC-87. Continue onto NC-210 S. Turn right onto Shaw Rd. Continue onto Santa Fe Dr. Turn left to merge onto All American Fwy S. Follow All American Fwy S to NC-1400/Cliffdale Rd in Cross Creek. Take the Cliffdale Rd exit from All American Fwy S. Merge onto All American Fwy S. Take the Cliffdale Rd exit. Use any lane to turn right onto Cliffdale Rd. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Glensford Dr. Follow the traffic circles to continue straight and stay on Glensford Dr. Go straight through the intersection at Raeford Rd. to merge onto Hope Mills Rd.
