Scholarships and Internships
NCTC supports the practical training and employment of professional theatre administrators through its Professional Theatre Management Internship. Many other internship and trainging opportunities are available across the state. Read on to learn more!

William Rackley Scholarship

NCTC awards two scholarships, the William Rackley Undergraduate Theatre Scholarship and the Constance Welsh TYA Graduate Studies Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded in alternating years. The Rackley is awarded in odd-numbered years, and the Welsh in even-numbered years.

The Rackley scholarship is awarded to a rising Junior or Senior Theatre Major enrolled full-time in a North Carolina college or university. 2007 is a Rackley year. Click here for the application.

Professional Theatre Management Internship 2008

The Professional Theatre Management Internship is a three-month summer internship program for a student, graduate student, or college graduate who intends to pursue a career in professional theatre management. The 2008 intern will work with Cape Fear Regional Theatre in Fayetteville, NC in an intensive, supervised internship. The intern receives a $1,200 per month stipend for each of the three months of the internship. Anyone over the age of 18 may apply. Click here for the application.

Constance Welsh TYA Graduate Studies Scholarship

The Constance Welsh scholarship is awarded to an individual who is beginning a course of graduate study in theatre for young people. Both are awarded on the basis of merit by nomination and interview. For application forms please follow the links below.This scholarship is given in even-numbered years. Check back in 2008!
