At ECU, we believe in practical experience. Studio/class work is vital to the process of learning, but being in on the construction, rehearsal, and performance of a production is the best way to learn the craft. We offer BFAs in all areas of theatre. Freshmen are encouraged to audition for MainStage productions, as it replicates real world competition for roles and technical positions. We are committed to producing quality productions and students are treated as young professionals.

Imagine. Create. Succeed. That is what our theatre program encourages each student to accomplish during their four years at Meredith. We sharpen each woman’s performance, design and technical skills while they earn a strong liberal arts degree from an institution that is consistently ranked both a top regional and national college. Working with guest artists, creating a strong ensemble, and learning from working professional faculty members are all reasons why students choose Meredith!
