Loadin/Load-outThe loading dock will accommodate one tractor trailer or other truck.  The access is steep and the turn at the bottom of the hill is sharp. Please look before you drive.

Loading Door: From dock to shop 10’W by 10’H.

Campus Tours During the Festival: We look forward to welcoming you to Catawba College. An excellent way to get to know us is to sign-up for an information session and campus tour.  Please e-mail Lisabeth Slate (lfslate@catawba.edu) by October 22 to set up your tour. 

Headsets: A headset is available in the booth, for use in calling cues to board operators. An additional headset will be available at the spot light.

Booth location: The booth is located at the back of the house, mezzanine level. The same student can call both light and sound cues, by using a headset that will be provided.

Piano/Orchestra Set-­Up: Keyboards may be plugged in downstage right. No piano provided.

Sound: We will provide an 1/8″ patch cord into the house mixer board. Schools can bring a computer, mp3 player, iPad/pod as long as it has a 1/8″ headphone jack or the school provides any needed adapters. A handheld mic can be available for use, if requested in advance.

Lighting: Lighting cues will be pre-programmed. Color washes are available. There will be a warm amber front light wash and a light blue front light wash, along with a deep blue down light wash to provide the option for a blue out. For white light, use warm and cool simultaneously and leave the Blue Black L cell blank (on your cue sheet). A spotlight is available in the balcony (center). The spotlight is manually faded and will be set up with 6 stock gel colors. Download the Light Cue Sheet.

Meals

Tables will be set-up in a room off of the lobby, for picnic meals and students may also eat outside. The indoor space cannot be reserved in advance and will be first-come, first served.

The Catawba College Cafeteria will be open for Play Festival participants for lunch on both days. The Cafeteria is a buffet with many vegetarian options.
