DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR- North Carolina Stage Company
North Carolina Stage Company is an award-winning professional theatre located in Asheville, NC, currently in its sixth season. NCSC is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Development Director to helm its giving program. This person will be comfortable with the unusual schedules required by the theatre lifestyle, excited to help make art happen, and innovative in their thinking. Primarily, this person must be good at building and maintaining relationships with individuals and businesses that will help meet the resource needs of the organization, short- and long-term. The candidate will be excited to be part of a close-knit, multi-tasking team, and should be able to sustain forward movement within his/her area of responsibility. Although still a young organization, NCSC has quickly become a leader in the Asheville arts community, growing its own programs at a fast pace, while providing support and mentoring for other arts organizations in the community. The theatre’s primary programs include a mainstage season of plays, an education program focusing on classroom residencies, and a “second stage” series that hosts other arts groups. NCSC’s working environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and flexible.
Job responsibilities include: the implementation of all aspects of NC Stage’s development activities in collaboration with the Producing Director, Managing Director, Artistic Director and the Board of Directors, raising funds from established resources as well as cultivating new sources, expanding the theatre’s visibility and base of support in both the private and public sectors, revising and carrying out annual and multi-year development plan, identifying and cultivating major gift prospects, maintaining the donor relations program, monitoring development revenue and budgets and overseeing development and fundraising expenditures, creating all solicitation materials, orchestrating and managing all fundraising activities, maintaining fundraising database (E-tapestry) including tracking and reporting accurate statistics, working with board members on special events task forces and committees as necessary, and representing NC Stage at community meetings and public events. Grantwriting experience is a must.

FULL TIME ASST PROFESSOR, THEATRE, DESIGN - Meredith College
The Department of Dance & Theatre in the School of the Arts at Meredith College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Theatre Design for the 2008-2009 Academic Year.
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses, including Introduction to Theatre, Stagecraft, Costume & Make-up, Scenic Design & Painting, and Lighting & Sound, plus several design-related practica. Candidate must design and build costumes, scenery or lights for 3-4 main stage shows per year and supervise undergraduate students in the shops. Full involvement in departmental and school activities is expected.
Qualifications include a terminal degree in Theatre, MFA preferred, evidence of design experience, and professional involvement in the field. Some prior teaching experience desired; graduate teaching assistantship acceptable.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR - NC Shakespeare Festival
The North Carolina Shakespeare Festival seeks a Technical Director to head its shop space located at its new central operations facility, Spirit Center, in High Point.
The Technical Director will be responsible for all duties normally associated with this position, including maintaining the shop, overseeing seasonal shop personnel, aiding the design process, costing designs, preparing construction drawings, participating in construction, load ins and load outs and functioning as necessary on running crews.
The Technical Director must have a graduate degree in his or her field, strong communication and organizational skills and a record of skill and achievement over a minimum of 3 years as a technical director.
