<p><strong>What We Do…</strong><br>CTC has grown to become a national leader in Theatre for Young Audiences. We serve nearly 250,000 young people and families throughout North and South Carolina and are dedicated to creating vibrant and engaging theatre experiences, both on the stage and in the classroom. Our education programs serve children ages 2-18 in creative drama, acting and musical theatre focused tuition-based classes, as well as in schools, and with community partners across the Charlotte region. With a focus on process, our goal is to teach life skills through theatre skills and help those who wish to pursue the craft of theatre to hone their skills and find their artistic voice.</p>



<p><strong>What You Will Do…</strong><br>Our Director of Education is equal parts strategic visionary and detail-oriented project manager. This is the perfect opportunity for a team-oriented strategic leader and collaborator, active and compassionate listener, bridge builder and champion for theatre education. This position plays a critical role in developing, driving, and leading our education initiatives through hands-on oversight of operational, marketing, development, and fiscal aspects of the education programs. As an ambassador and advocate for CTC, our Director often serves as CTC’s representative and spokesperson, developing key community, state, and national relationships in the theatre education arena.</p>



<p>The ideal candidate is a leader with a passion for our mission and for our purpose and place in the arts sector and in the fabric of the Charlotte region. The Director is motivated by CTC’s commitment to develop culturally rich and dynamic programs on our stages, in our classes and within our community. <strong></strong></p>



<p><strong><em>Lead, Direct and Manage our Theatre Education Programs and Strategy</em></strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Overall responsibility for maintaining the integrity and quality of all CTC’s education programs including School of Theatre Training (SOTT), Summer Camp, Residencies, OnStage, and community programs</li>



<li>Build, manage, track, and report the education department budget. The 2026-27 fiscal year revenue is anticipated to be $928,000, with expenses around $852,000. Must be expert in utilizing spreadsheet applications to construct the budget, analyze data and present information.</li>



<li>Oversee, and drive all Education Department curriculum development and delivery.</li>



<li>Recruit, hire, lead, manage, supervise, assess, and reward the regular, full-time education department staff. Final approval of teaching artists’ hires. May observe teaching artists in class and provide feedback.</li>



<li>Oversee development of educational materials, student/program evaluations and teaching artist assessment tools. Oversee the development of show resource guides and other educational supplementary materials as needed.</li>



<li>Serve as lead and point person for OnStage, including selecting scripts, selecting directors and show staff, scheduling auditions, rehearsals and shows.</li>



<li>Develop theatre education professional contacts locally, regionally, and nationally. Foster relationships with community organizations and regional public and private schools.</li>



<li>Serve as the Education Department representative when collaborating with CTC’s artistic team.</li>



<li>Perform other duties as assigned to support CTC.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong><em>Shared Programming Team Member</em></strong></p>



<p>Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is in partnership with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library (CML). We share a building called ImaginOn that houses both CML’s children’s library and the Theatre. There are two shared staff members who facilitate programming at ImaginOn and serve both organizations. The Director of Education represents the Education Department on the Shared Programming Team and supports shared activities.</p>



<p><strong><em>Reporting Relationship</em></strong></p>



<p>The Director reports directly to the Artistic Director, serves on the Senior Leadership Team and supervises five regular, full-time staff members. Children’s Theatre of Charlotte has a dual management structure with the Artistic Director and Managing Director serving as our executive leaders, with both reporting to the Board of Directors.</p>



<p><strong>What We are Looking For&#8230;</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>A genuine passion for the mission and vision of Children’s Theatre of Charlotte and a strong desire to be actively engaged in the Charlotte and Mecklenburg County community.</li>



<li>Preferably at least 2 years professional experience as an associate director or director of education in a theatre or school theatre administration position.</li>



<li>A collaborative and people-centered leadership style grounded in transparency, consistency, confidence, and empowerment. You value teamwork, make others feel like meaningful contributors, and treat colleagues with respect, kindness, and dignity while remaining attentive to individual needs and motivations.</li>



<li>Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex projects, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets is required, along with a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.</li>



<li>Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment, thoughtful decision-making, and exceptional attention to detail.</li>



<li>Professional experience directing, mentoring, inspiring, and motivating teams toward shared goals and organizational success.</li>



<li>Strong financial stewardship skills, including the ability to manage within approved budgets, identify opportunities for efficiency, and responsibly maximize organizational resources.</li>



<li>The ability to work effectively with diverse personalities, teams, educational partners, and young people of all ages.</li>



<li>Ability to lead through a lens of cultural awareness, empathy, and belonging.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Other Qualifications</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Education, Arts Management or related field or commensurate professional experience.</li>



<li>Experience in Arts Education, Arts Outreach or related fields is a plus.</li>



<li>Supervisory and team leadership experience is a plus.</li>



<li>Willing to maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the position. The work schedule includes occasional nights and weekends.</li>



<li>Excellent written, verbal, and public speaking skills.</li>
</ul>

<p>This position is located in the Dramatic Art department within the College of Arts and Sciences. This position will serve as the Technical Director for the Kenan Theatre Company (KTC), the undergraduate production arm of the Department of Dramatic Art. </p>



<p>Under the supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Production, the Technical Director (TD) will supervise, mentor, and train students with a variety of skill levels. Primary responsibilities, during the academic year, include the planning and construction of all KTC productions, leading all builds for sets, lights, sound, and props; design analysis and drafting (VectorWorks); budget management and reporting, scheduling, supervision of scenery construction, equipping and maintaining all shop areas, purchasing materials, and coordinating prop rentals with PlayMakers Repertory Company. The Technical Director will also hire, train, and supervise work-study students working with the Technical Shop. </p>



<p>Additionally, this position will assist the Facilities Director, primarily during the summer months, in creating an inventory system for the Department of Dramatic Art and PlayMakers Repertory Company and maintaining the Joan H. Gillings Center for Dramatic Art. These duties include, but are not limited to, performing minor repairs; coordinating with university facilities management; coordinating facilities upgrades; and coordinating facilities rentals. </p>



<p>Minimum Requirements: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree preferably in the Theatre Arts, and some experience that provides the employee with the functional work experiences needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</p>



<p>Preference for relevant theatre experience beyond the undergraduate degree, experience working in an academic environment, supervisory experience, and xperience working with Qlab, ETC, digital mixers and Photoshop.</p>



<p>Established in 1936, Dramatic Art is the second oldest theatre department in the country. Our faculty members are both scholars and artists, teachers and practitioners, constantly moving back and forth between the classroom and the theatre. PlayMakers Repertory Company (LORT D theatre) is embedded within the Department and the symbiotic relationship, between the Department of Dramatic Art and PlayMakers Repertory Company, builds upon a more than one-hundred-year legacy. <p>The Production Assistant will assist Stage Management for all productions from rehearsal through the run of a  production. The PA will be in charge of running crews for productions. Ability to work with and train running crews drawn from undergraduate students is required. </p>



<p>Contract dates are 8/3/26 – 4/25/27, start date negotiable. </p>



<p>Compensation: $21.00 per hour, paid biweekly. </p>

<p>The stage manager will be responsible for organizing daily rehearsals, scheduling, running technical rehearsals, and calling 3-4 main stage shows and 1-2 two second stage shows, as well as assisting on the other 3 main stage shows. </p>



<p>Contract dates are 8/3/26 – 4/25/27, start date negotiable. </p>



<p>Compensation: $27.50-$28.50 per hour, paid biweekly. </p>

<p>Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s (CTC) mission is to create exceptional theatre experiences, inspiring generations to explore the wonder of their world. CTC serves approximately 2,000 students throughout a 10-week summer program with a variety of theatre day camps at ImaginOn and our satellite location at Central Piedmont Community College-Levine Campus. At CTC, we continue to see education as a driving force behind the work we do. By inspiring the minds of our youth, we are helping to build a strong future for our community.</p>



<p>This is a non-paid opportunity for high school students. Interns must participate for a minimum of two weeks from June 1 through Aug 14. </p>



<p>Applications are due May 11th, 2026 at 5pm. Folks who get their applications in will receive higher priority in scheduling to those who apply later. All communication of acceptance and schedules may not go out until after May 18th!</p>



<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br>The Junior Intern will serve in an integral role to support our summer educational programming. The junior intern will have responsibilities working with children ages 3-11 including classroom assistance, drop-off and pick-up, snack time, and aftercare. Other responsibilities include minor administrative duties such as following the scheduling, gathering supplies and maintaining organization. The Junior Intern will provide support to the Summer Camp Counselors, Teaching Artists, and Education Administration.</p>

<p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p>



<p><strong>Capital Campaign</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Leading and executing DCP&#8217;s capital campaign for the renovation of Armour Street Theatre, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship at all levels.</li>



<li>Developing and managing a campaign timeline, tracking progress toward goals, and reporting regularly to leadership and the board.</li>



<li>Partnering with board members and volunteers to activate their networks in support of campaign goals.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Individual &amp; Major Giving</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Designing and implementing a comprehensive individual giving strategy, including annual fund, mid-level, and major gift programs.</li>



<li>Building and managing a personal portfolio of major gift prospects, with a focus on moving donors through a structured cultivation and solicitation cycle.</li>



<li>Getting out into the Davidson, North Charlotte, and Lake Norman communities to identify, engage, and steward the next generation of arts supporters.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Foundation &amp; Planned Giving</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Developing and directing strategies for foundation giving, including identifying new prospects and deepening relationships with existing funders.</li>



<li>Launching and growing a planned giving program, including marketing, prospect identification, and donor recognition.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Grants &amp; Administration</strong></p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Occasionally researching and writing grant proposals and reports in partnership with program staff.</li>



<li>Maintaining accurate donor records and tracking all fundraising activity in DCP&#8217;s donor database.</li>



<li>Collaborating with marketing and communications staff to support donor-facing materials and appeals.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong></p>

<li>3+ years of nonprofit development experience, with demonstrated success in major gifts, capital campaigns, or planned giving.</li>



<li>Proven track record executing or supporting a capital campaign.</li>



<li>A natural relationship-builder who is energized by community engagement and comfortable cultivating donors at all levels.</li>



<li>Innovative, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow programs from the ground up.</li>



<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>



<li>Experience with donor databases and CRM platforms.</li>



<li>Genuine enthusiasm for the arts and an understanding of DCP&#8217;s mission and community role.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Compensation and Benefits</strong></p>

They also assist with events and occasional facilities upkeep.</p>

<p><strong>About the Summer Intensive Season</strong>: Theatre Charlotte produces two musical productions over a four-week period, leading off with the Student Theatre Guild production of <strong>Big Fish</strong> followed by the TCjr production of <strong>Matilda Jr</strong>. Designers for the summer intensives should be able to create a design that serves each production while creatively finding ways to easily transition from one show to the next. <em>The turn around time between productions is less than one week</em>. <p><strong>Scenic Designers</strong>:&nbsp; Scenic Designers are responsible for bringing the visual elements of the production to life through a creative, well thought out and efficient design that is within the resources and budget set forth by Theatre Charlotte.&nbsp; We seek designers who can hold fast to strict deadlines and are willing to work within the challenges of the space, budget and limited production personnel. The ability to creatively reuse scenic elements or create ones that can be used for both productions is a bonus. Scenic Designers must have drafting skills with either AutoCad or Vectorworks and be available to assist with set dressing, scenic painting and finishing touches as needed. Pay is $2000 for both designs.</p>

<p>Organization: Community Theatre of Greensboro (CTG)<br>Location: Greensboro, NC<br>Reports To: Executive Director<br>Schedule: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week; flexible schedule with some evening/weekend events)</p>



<p><strong>Position Summary</strong><br>We are seeking a detail-oriented, relationship-driven Development Manager to support our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This part-time role plays a vital part in sustaining and growing contributed revenue through donor stewardship, events, sponsorship support, and database management.</p>



<p>The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about the performing arts and community engagement. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.</p>

<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>



<p>Fundraising Campaign Support</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Creating and implementing, in partnership with the Executive Director, CTG staff, and Board of Directors, a yearly plan for sales and donations to meet financial goals. </li>



<li>Securing sponsorships for CTG’s main-stage and youth productions and special events</li>



<li>Selling advertising space for CTG’s main-stage and youth show programs</li>



<li>Help lead fund campaigns, appeals, and special fundraising initiatives</li>



<li>Coordinate mailing lists, digital communications, and campaign tracking</li>



<li>Support grant research and proposal preparation as needed</li>
</ul>



<p>Donor Relations &amp; Stewardship</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Building relationships with current and potential CTG supporters</li>



<li>Assist in managing donor communications, acknowledgments, and stewardship touchpoints</li>



<li>Support cultivation strategies for individual donors</li>



<li>Maintain accurate donor records in an established database and generate reporting</li>
</ul>



<p>Events &amp; Sponsorships</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Help plan and execute fundraising events (galas, opening nights, donor receptions, etc.)</li>



<li>Assist with sponsor fulfillment and recognition</li>



<li>Support event logistics, including invitations, RSVPs, and follow-up</li>
</ul>

<p>Qualifications</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>2-5 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, marketing, or related field preferred</li>



<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>



<li>Highly organized with strong attention to detail</li>



<li>Comfortable working with donor databases and Microsoft Office </li>



<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively</li>



<li>Customer service or relationship-building experience</li>



<li>Passion for theatre, arts education, and community engagement</li>
</ul>

<p>Compensation</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Compensation for this position ranges from $25 to $40 per hour and will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated success in fundraising, donor engagement</li>
